Who are Redkite?

About Redkite

Providing real support to children, young people and their families through cancer has remained Redkite's single focus for over 26 years.
Currently there are approximately 8000 families affected by childhood and adolescent cancer in Australia. Redkite is there with real and practical support for the whole family from the moment of diagnosis, throughout treatment and when families return home to the community.

Redkite provides financial assistance, emotional support and education assistance. Emotional support within the hospital environment is provided through social workers and music therapists, and support within the community includes telephone and email counselling, bereavement support and family days. Read more about Redkite's services here.
Children and young people from all major cities, regional areas and remote locations across Australia are supported by Redkite services coordinated from offices in New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria and Western Australia. With the continuing support of the community, Redkite aims to further expand their services in order to offer equity of care and support to all Australian children and young people with cancer.
Redkite receives no government funding and relies entirely on the generosity of the community to provide these important services.

Their services

Children and young people with cancer bring many personal strengths, abilities and resources to the cancer journey, as do their families and support networks. But sometimes extra support is needed. That’s where Redkite can help.

If you’re a young person who has been recently diagnosed or you are undergoing treatment or returning home; or if you are a family of a child or young person going through the cancer journey, Redkite’s range of specialist and unique services are available for you. Redkite also supports the special needs of bereaved families.

By delivering specialised cancer counselling and support, Redkite aims to minimise the challenges young people and their families experience throughout the diagnosis and treatment of cancer, and helps prepare them for the journey ahead.

Read through their website to understand how Redkite can support you and your family. You can also speak to the social worker in your hospital or treatment centre about their services and network.  Alternatively you can also contact Redkite directly on 1300 722 644 or
